This RadarLock lens is excellent for users in competition that requires depth perception as a criteria of performance. It also allows users high definition contrast optics, useful in target acquisition and improving hand-eye coordination. The OO Red Iridium Polarized lens characteristics are:

The usage of this lens is extremely specialized. Light transmission of 18% allows usage deep into evening in Singapore situations. The 18% light transmission is useful for leveling off peaks and troughs in the light spectrum creating visuals that are homogenous allowing you to see both bright and dark areas at the same time. This is important for users that experience quick changes in light intensity without the need for the eyes to adjust. Or users that travel at high speeds. Example of such use are mountain trial bike riders going in and out of foliage at speed. The lens also allows acceptable use in Singapore’s bright afternoon sun with polarization lending a hand in lowering glare.

Unlike other darker lenses, these lenses still allows enough light when drivers/riders enter KPE or the CTE from the bright sunlight. It will work when it starts raining as well, with the darkest of clouds spoiling its performance otherwise. Hydrophobic coating keeps the optics as clear as possible when wet by sliding water off its lens.

Comparing to darker tint lenses, these lenses do not perform as well in very bright light situations. That includes urban built up areas with lots of shiny buildings and vehicles. These will however outperform situations with lower light levels and lesser glare, with more flora and fauna and shall be giving high definition to depth perception in such a situation. This is because of the base G40 material which has a slightly rosy tint and increases definition for greenery. All Oakley G series lenses are specific and applicable for golf, and no wonder as golfers needs depth perception when everything around them are green. It also cuts hazy days and makes the scenery clearer. As its not engineered for extreme bright light, your eyes will feel comparatively fatigued as compared to darker tints if used for a whole day in the sun. However, secondary lens of black iridium covers the brighter conditions experienced in Singapore so this set will be great for all conditions encountered here.

The wrap style lens gives great coverage and the vented design allows lesser fog build up when stationary.
