As of October 2026, Singapore citizens can enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 30 days. Taiwan’s Bureau of Consular Affairs says the stay starts from the day after arrival and cannot be extended. You need a passport with at least six months’ validity on the date of entry and a confirmed return or onward ticket (with a visa for your next stop if it needs one). Before you land, complete the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online at twac.immigration.gov.tw. It is free, replaced paper arrival cards from 1 October 2025, and since July 2026 can be filed up to seven days before arrival.

Taiwan is one of the easiest long weekends from Changi. Get these few things right and immigration at Taoyuan takes minutes.

Quick facts

  • Visa-free stay: up to 30 days for Singapore passport holders.
  • The 30 days begin the day after you arrive and are not extendable.

  • Onward ticket: confirmed return or onward air or sea ticket.
  • Arrival card: TWAC online, free, within seven days before arrival; no paper card.

How to fill in the Taiwan Arrival Card

  1. Go to the official site, twac.immigration.gov.tw. Type it yourself; Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency has warned about fake sites that charge fees.
  2. Enter your passport details exactly as printed, your flight number and your address in Taiwan.
  3. If you travel as a family or group, one person can file for up to 16 people.
  4. Submit. A confirmation is emailed to you.
  5. At the counter, the officer’s system pulls up your TWAC when your passport is scanned, so you do not need to show the confirmation.

Counting your 30 days: a worked example

You land in Taipei on Tuesday 1 December 2026. Because the stay starts the day after arrival, day one is Wednesday 2 December, and day 30 is Thursday 31 December 2026. Leave on or before that date. You could file your TWAC from about Tuesday 24 November, seven days before you arrive. If you want to see in the New Year in Taipei, you would overstay, so book your flight home for 31 December at the latest or apply for a visa instead.

Before you fly

  • Check your passport’s expiry date against the six-month rule.
  • Register your trip with MFA’s eRegister so the Singapore mission can reach you in an emergency.
  • Buy travel insurance; Taiwan has earthquakes and typhoons, and MFA suggests following alerts from Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration.
  • Use a card with low foreign-currency fees, and always pay in New Taiwan dollars, not SGD.

The WahLiao Verdict

Taiwan is about as simple as overseas travel gets for Singaporeans: no visa, one free online form, and a generous 30 days. Do the TWAC a few days before you fly, on the official site only, and keep your passport comfortably over six months’ validity. If your trip runs close to 30 days, count from the day after you land and book your return with a day to spare.
