Science Centre Singapore in Jurong East is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm (last entry 4.15pm), and closed on Mondays except public and school holidays. As of October 2026, its price list shows free entry for Singapore residents and PRs on off-peak days (weekdays in school term) and $6 for a resident adult at peak times; the standard non-resident adult rate is $12. The Omni-Theatre dome costs $14 per adult or child. The Centre is planned to move to a new building by Jurong Lake Gardens around the end of 2027, its 50th anniversary year, and the current site stays open until then.
If you grew up in Singapore, this is where you first touched a static ball and lay back under the dome. The good news: it is cheaper than ever for residents, at least on the right days.

| Ticket | Resident or PR, peak | Resident or PR, off-peak | Standard (non-resident) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Science Centre, adult | $6 | Free | $12 |
| Science Centre, child (3 to 12) | $4 | Free | $8 |

Worked example: a family of four
- Two resident adults and two children aged 3 to 12 on a Saturday: Science Centre 2 × $6 + 2 × $4 = $20. Add an Omni-Theatre show at 4 × $14 = $56, and the day comes to $76.
- The same family on a Wednesday in school term: the Science Centre is free, so only the Omni-Theatre’s $56 remains.
- Two tourist adults: 2 × $12 = $24 for the Science Centre.
The Omni-Theatre
The Omni-Theatre is Singapore’s giant dome cinema, showing science and nature films that wrap over your head. Tickets are a flat $14 for adults and children, with seniors paying from $12. There are several shows a day from late morning to late afternoon, and the Centre asks visitors to pre-book a session. Pick seats towards the middle and back for the most comfortable view of the dome.

Getting there and planning
- The Centre is at 15 Science Centre Road, a walk from Jurong East MRT.
- Pre-book KidsSTOP, which runs two sessions a day: 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
- Arrive at 10am on a term-time weekday for the quietest halls.
- Avoid Mondays outside the holidays, when the Centre is shut.
The WahLiao Verdict
Residents should go on a school-term weekday, when the main halls are free, and spend the saving on an Omni-Theatre show. Families with toddlers should add KidsSTOP but book the session first. And if you have fond memories of the old building, visit before the move: the current Centre has a little over a year left on the announced timeline.
