If you lose your passport in Singapore, report the loss straight away at any police station, neighbourhood police centre or police post, then contact your embassy or high commission for a replacement or emergency travel document. According to ICA, visitors can leave Singapore on that document with a copy of the police report, as long as their visit pass is still valid; there is no need to report to ICA. For a lost wallet or phone, call your bank first, then the police.
Losing things in Singapore is less of a disaster than in most cities: honesty is high, and a surprising amount comes back. But a lost passport still costs a day or two, so it is worth knowing the order of things before you need to.

Lost passport: the details
ICA’s instructions for visitors are simple. Report the loss immediately to the police, at any police station, neighbourhood police centre or police post. Then contact your country’s embassy, high commission or consular office to apply for a replacement or temporary travel document; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website lists foreign missions in Singapore.
You may then leave Singapore on the temporary or replacement document with a copy of the police report, within the validity of your visit pass. You can check your pass on ICA’s e-Pass Enquiry portal. If you find the original passport before you leave, make a police report to update its status, and then you may travel on it.
If you cannot get a new document before your visit pass runs out, contact ICA through its enquiry form or visit the ICA Services Centre at 2 Crawford Street, next to Lavender MRT station, on weekday mornings.
Lost wallet or cards
Call your bank to block the cards first; it is the step that saves the most money. Then report the loss to the police. Contactless cards are also your MRT ticket, so you will need a replacement card, an EZ-Link card or cash for travel. Money transfer services can get emergency cash to you through licensed agents.
Lost phone
Use your phone’s find-my-device service from a friend’s phone or a computer, and lock it remotely. Report the loss to the police. If it was stolen, the police report also helps with your travel insurance claim.
Left something on the MRT, a bus, a taxi or at Changi?
Contact the operator’s lost and found: the train or bus operator for public transport, the taxi company or ride-hailing app for a ride, and Changi Airport’s lost and found for the airport. Have the date, time and route ready.
