Mandai Wildlife Reserve in the north of Singapore holds five separately ticketed parks: Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Bird Paradise, River Wonders and the newer Rainforest Wild Adventure. As of October 2026, standard adult tickets are S$49 for the Zoo and Bird Paradise, S$45 for River Wonders and S$58 for Night Safari. Singapore residents with a free WildPass pay less, from S$35 to S$48 on weekdays, a little more at weekends, and residents aged 60 and above pay S$25. The day parks open around 9am to 6pm (the Zoo from 8.30am); Night Safari runs 6pm to midnight. Children under 3 enter free.

It is one of the happiest days out in Singapore, and with five parks side by side, a little planning stops it becoming one very long, very hot one.

Quick facts

  • Five parks, five tickets: multi-park bundles are sold, but there is no single entry to everything.
  • Resident pricing: through WildPass, with regular rates Monday to Friday and peak rates at weekends and on public holidays.
  • Free under 3: with an adult over 21 holding a ticket to the same park.
  • Hours: Zoo 8.30am to 6pm; Bird Paradise, River Wonders and Rainforest Wild Adventure 9am to 6pm; last entry 5pm. Night Safari 6pm to midnight, last entry 11.15pm.
  • Getting there: the M2 Mandai Khatib bus from Khatib MRT costs S$2.50, about 20 minutes, with under-7s free.
  • Parking: S$3 for the first hour, then S$2 an hour, capped at S$10 per entry.

What is each park, and what does it cost?

Resident seniors aged 60 and above pay S$25 at every park, any day. Local students pay the child rate. Mandai states its prices include 9% GST. Resident rates need a free WildPass account; our guide to resident rates, WildPass and online discounts explains how to set it up.

Worked example: two resident adults and an eight-year-old at the Zoo on a Saturday pay S$44 + S$44 + S$30 = S$118. On a Wednesday the same family pays S$39 + S$39 + S$27 = S$105. A visiting family of the same size pays S$49 + S$49 + S$34 = S$132 on either day.

How do I plan the day?

  1. Pick one day park, maybe two: the Zoo alone is a full morning; pair a smaller park such as River Wonders only if the children have stamina.
  2. Book online with WildPass if you are a resident, and choose a weekday for the lower rate.
  3. Arrive at opening: animals are livelier and the paths cooler before 11am.
  4. Break for lunch outside the parks; the dining areas need no ticket.
  5. For Night Safari, arrive around 6pm, eat first, and join the tram once trails and trams start at about 7pm.
  6. Leave by M2 bus or taxi; the M2 runs until midnight, every 15 minutes and every 20 after 11pm.

What can I do for free?

Quite a lot. The 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk along Upper Seletar Reservoir is free, as are the children’s play areas outside the parks, more than 20 food and drink outlets, the shops and a dog playground at Mandai Wildlife WEST, open 7am to 7pm. Parking at Mandai Wildlife WEST is free from 6pm to midnight, which helps on a Night Safari evening.

The WahLiao Verdict

Residents should sign up for WildPass before anything else and go on a weekday; the saving is about S$10 per adult per park against the tourist price. Choose one day park per visit, arrive at opening, and save Night Safari for a separate evening rather than stretching tired children across both. Visitors with a short trip should pick Night Safari if they can do only one, because there is nothing quite like it elsewhere, and Bird Paradise if they want a calmer daytime walk.

Questions people ask

Is there one ticket for all the Mandai parks?

No single entry covers everything, but Mandai sells multi-park bundles and annual memberships. Compare the bundle against the single tickets you will actually use.

How long does the Zoo take?

Plan on most of a day for the full loop with shows and feeding. With young children, three to four hours is often plenty.

What if it rains?

Bring a poncho or umbrella and plan indoor breaks; Singapore showers usually pass within an hour. Check the Mandai app or website on the day for any show or ride changes in bad weather.

Can I take public buses instead of the M2?

Yes. Bus 927 runs from Choa Chu Kang MRT and bus 138 from Ang Mo Kio and Springleaf MRT, using regular fares.
