Since June 2026, FairPrice Xtra has also run a monthly Senior Week in the last week of each month, with offers on items such as senior milk powder, supplements, oral care and adult diapers. What is FairPrice Xtra Senior Week?

In June 2026 FairPrice Group launched Xtra Senior Week, a monthly, week-long in-store event held in the last week of each month across all FairPrice Xtra outlets. It features offers on senior essentials such as milk powder, health supplements, oral care products and adult diapers. Because it runs on a fixed monthly schedule, families can plan the bigger stock-up for that week. FairPrice Xtra stores are also introducing Active Living Zones, which gather senior essentials in one area of the store.

Are Singapore supermarkets senior-friendly?

Increasingly. Some FairPrice outlets with many older shoppers, such as those at Bukit Merah Central and Tampines Hub, have been designed with call buttons and magnifying glasses along the aisles, larger signage, wheelchair-friendly trolleys and rest areas. If a store you use lacks these, it is worth asking staff for help reaching high shelves or reading small print; staff at the customer service counter can usually assist.

Delivery and help for seniors who cannot get to the shop

One caution: some discount schemes apply only to the eligible person or their card, and some offers need a staffed till. Check the rules before paying on a senior’s behalf.

What food support is there for older people in need?

FairPrice Foundation’s Protein Pledge, launched in March 2025, distributes fresh eggs to vulnerable communities, with a commitment of $1 million worth of protein by 2030. In June 2026 it began piloting the addition of milk for senior beneficiaries, reached through charities, active ageing centres and community partners. The Health Promotion Board has found that about half of Singapore’s adults aged 50 to 69 fall short of their recommended protein intake, which is why eggs, milk, fish, tofu and lean meat matter in an older person’s basket.
