Three days in Singapore is enough to see the city properly without rushing it. Spend day one at Marina Bay, ending with two free light shows. Spend day two in Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam, then go to the Night Safari after dark. Keep day three for the Botanic Gardens and a slow walk to the airport through Jewel.
The paid tickets on this plan add up to S$119 a person. With hawker meals, a few sit-down dinners and trains, expect about S$220 to S$340 a person for the three days, before the hotel. We built it around the one thing guidebooks underplay: the heat. Outdoor sights sit in the morning and evening, and the air-conditioned ones sit in the middle of the day.

Day 1: Marina Bay, from the Merlion to the Supertrees
Start where the postcards start, then earn the evening. The waterfront is free and at its kindest before eleven. The glasshouses at Gardens by the Bay are cool inside, so they are your shelter for the worst of the afternoon.

Garden Rhapsody plays daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm. Spectra plays at 8pm and 9pm, with an extra 10pm show on Fridays and Saturdays. Catch the 7.45pm Rhapsody, then walk through the Shoppes to the bay for the 9pm Spectra; the walk takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Want the view from the top? The SkyPark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands costs S$35 by day and S$39 from 5pm. The Supertree Observatory costs S$14 and sits in the same gardens, with a lower but prettier view.
Here on Grand Prix weekend? The Singapore Grand Prix runs on the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 9 to 11 October 2026. Roads around the bay close and some nearby sights change their hours, so swap day one with day three that weekend and check opening times before you go.
Day 2: Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam, and the Night Safari
Today is the Singapore that existed before the skyline. Three neighbourhoods, three faiths, three breakfasts’ worth of food, all within a few MRT stops. Cover your shoulders and knees for the temples and the mosque.

The Night Safari has no MRT station at its gate. Take the train north and a shuttle bus in, or share a taxi from the city; the ride home after 11pm is where a taxi earns its fare. Book the Night Safari online and go on a weekday if you can, when the tram queue is shortest.
Day 3: The Botanic Gardens, Orchard Road, and Jewel on the way out
The last day should be gentle. The Singapore Botanic Gardens opens at 5am and costs nothing, which makes it the best early walk in the city. Its National Orchid Garden opens at 8.30am.

Shopping on day three? Keep the receipts. Visitors aged 16 and over can claim back GST on purchases of S$100 or more from participating shops. Rewrite it for the way you travel
Travelling with young children. Swap the Night Safari for Singapore Zoo in the morning, and put Gardens by the Bay’s children’s garden into day one. Bedtime matters more than the tram ride.
Here for the beach and rides. Replace day three with Sentosa. Walk across the Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity, or ride the Sentosa Express.
It is pouring. Singapore rain is heavy and usually brief. Move the domes, the malls and the museums into the wet hours; The Diary lists the indoor sights with prices.
Travelling with grandparents. Take taxis between neighbourhoods on day two, and skip Haji Lane for a long lunch.
Where to stay for this itinerary

Tap a contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express card at the gantry, or use a phone wallet. Foreign-issued cards pay an admin fee of S$0.60 per day of use. Is 3 days enough for Singapore?
Yes, for a first visit. Three full days covers Marina Bay, the heritage districts and one big attraction. Add days for Sentosa, the zoo parks or a trip to a heartland town.
Is Gardens by the Bay free?
The outdoor gardens and the Supertree Grove are free, and so is Garden Rhapsody. The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest cost S$46 for a non-resident adult.
What time are the light shows?
Garden Rhapsody runs daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm. Spectra runs at 8pm and 9pm, plus 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Both are free.
Can I fit Sentosa into three days?
Only by dropping something. Swap day three for Sentosa if beaches and theme parks matter more than gardens.
