Much of Gardens by the Bay is free: the outdoor gardens, the Supertree Grove and the nightly Garden Rhapsody light-and-music show cost nothing at all. You pay for the two cooled conservatories. A combined ticket to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest costs S$34 for a Singapore resident adult and S$46 for a non-resident adult; Cloud Forest alone is S$26 for resident adults. The conservatories open daily from 9am to 9pm. The Supertree Observatory and the OCBC Skyway walkway are ticketed separately.

It’s one of the happiest places in the city to spend an evening, and you can do it for the price of the MRT ride. Here’s how to choose what to pay for.

Quick facts

  • Free: the outdoor gardens, Supertree Grove and Garden Rhapsody.
  • Garden Rhapsody runs every evening at 7.45pm and 8.45pm.
  • Flower Dome and Cloud Forest: S$34 resident adult, S$46 non-resident adult.
  • Conservatories: 9am to 9pm daily, last admission 8pm.
  • Cloud Forest is cool, about 23°C to 25°C, with misting every two hours from 10am.
  • Cloud Forest closes for maintenance on scheduled days, the next on 26 October 2026.

A good-value evening plan

  1. Late afternoon: walk the outdoor gardens while it cools down.
  2. Around 6pm: if you’re paying for one thing, make it Cloud Forest, with its indoor waterfall and cool mist.
  3. 7.45pm: lie back under the Supertrees for Garden Rhapsody, free and about 15 minutes long.
  4. After: stroll along the bay towards Marina Bay Sands for the city lights.

The WahLiao Verdict

Bring visiting friends for the free evening first; Garden Rhapsody wins over almost everyone. Pay for the conservatories on a hot or rainy day, when 23°C of cool mountain air is worth every dollar, and use resident rates when you qualify.

Questions people ask

How do I get there?

Take the MRT to Bayfront (Circle and Downtown lines) or Gardens by the Bay (Thomson-East Coast line), then walk.

Is Garden Rhapsody cancelled when it rains?

Shows can be cancelled in heavy rain or lightning. Check the weather and the Gardens’ social media before you go; see Singapore weather by month.

Which conservatory is better if I only do one?

Cloud Forest, for most people: the waterfall and the walk up the mountain are the big moments. Flower Dome suits keen gardeners and seasonal flower displays.
