There is no bad month to visit Singapore, only different kinds of rain. For the best balance of weather, prices and crowds, go from February to April: February and early March are the drier end of the Northeast Monsoon, and the Chinese New Year rush is over by mid-February. December and January are the wettest months, and the Grand Prix weekend (9 to 11 October 2026) pushes Marina Bay hotel prices up.
Singapore sits just north of the equator, so the temperature barely moves: daytime highs around 31 to 32°C and nights near 24°C, every month. What changes is the rain, the festivals and the crowds. Plan around those three and any month can be a good one.

Visiting at Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is Singapore’s biggest festival, and it is a beautiful time to see Chinatown. It is also the week when many hawker stalls, family restaurants and small shops close for two or three days. Malls, hotels and the big attractions stay open, but plan your meals and book restaurants ahead.
Visiting during the Grand Prix
The Grand Prix turns Marina Bay into a night-time racetrack. If you are coming for the race, book a room early. If you are not, avoid staying near the bay that weekend: roads close, some sights around the circuit change their hours, and room rates rise.
What about the rain?
A Singapore downpour is heavy, loud and usually over within an hour or two. Most rain falls in the afternoon or evening, so the morning is your best time outdoors all year round. Covered walkways, malls and underground links mean you rarely have to get wet. Carry a small umbrella; it doubles as sun shade.
